Kemenparekraf Strengthens Quality Tourism in Biak Numfor Papua
The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency strengthens efforts to create quality, integrated, and sustainable tourist destinations in Biak Numfor Regency, Papua, by increasing the synergy between the Central and Regional Governments in the Management of Physical Special Allocation Funds (DAK) Based on Innovation, Adaptation , and Collaboration.
One of these synergies was realized through the Forum Group Discussion (FGD) activity 'Synergy Based on Innovation, Adaptation and Collaboration Between Center and Regions (SINAKODA)' which took place in a hybrid manner at Swiss-Belhotel Cendrawasih, Biak, Thursday (12/5/2022).
When giving his speech online, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy / Agency for Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno appreciated the holding of this activity as a commitment of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in realizing quality, integrated, and sustainable tourist destinations, especially in Biak Numfor.
“This is a potential that we must continue to develop. And this Synkoda FGD is a program model and guideline used by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in carrying out the task of developing destinations with stakeholders with the concept of collaboration synergy through integrated physical DAK management," said Sandiaga.
Of the 17 Physical DAK fields, there are six thematic areas that are focused on tourism, namely Tourism, Roads, Small and Medium Industries (IKM), the Environment, and Trade and MSMEs.
He explained that the synergy in implementing the national DAK must be realized to achieve the 2020-2024 RPJMN target and the Parekraf Strategic Plan in order to realize national economic resilience.
Through this program, it is hoped that the governance of the integrated Physical DAK synergy program will be realized to create quality, integrated and sustainable destinations so as to accelerate the recovery of the tourism and creative sector to create added value/regional PAD and realize community welfare, especially in Eastern Indonesia.
"I want to remind you, one of the efforts to build these destinations is to use the Tourism DAK," said Sandiaga.
The Deputy for Destination and Infrastructure Development at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Baparekraf Vinsensius Jemadu said the same thing. He said the SINAKODA program needed to be implemented so that quality, integrated, and sustainable destinations could soon be realized, especially in super priority tourism destinations (DPSP), priority tourism destinations (DPP), and the revitalization of Bali.
"This program must be a program that is right on target, on time, and has benefits," said Vincent.
Director of Destination II Development Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf Wawan Gunawan said the FGD would present a number of resource persons. Among them are the Director of the Tourism Industry and Creative Economy of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas Leonardo Teguh AA Sambodo, the Head of the Planning and Finance Bureau of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Dyah Septiana Isnaryati, and the Head of the Biak Tourism Office, Turbey Onisimus Dangeubun.
"The resource person will provide enlightenment regarding how to manage the physical tourism DAK to create quality and sustainable tourism," said Wawan.
Wawan explained that President Joko Widodo had established tourism as one of the leading sectors in the national economy. Therefore, all ministries and institutions, central and regional governments must support acceleration related to regional progress and provide added value related to people's welfare.
"We are both here to synergize on the basis of innovation, adaptation, collaboration with the spirit of geber, speedy, and gaspol. This means that we have to move together, how do we equalize the perception of building a quality, integrated and sustainable tourism and creative economy, "Wawan said.
In addition to this synergy activity, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will also continue to provide support by providing assistance to tourist villages in Biak Numfor and arrangement of amenities such as in Japan Cave as well as revitalizing clean toilets.
"We don't just use words but how the physical DAK implementation is utilized and integrated," said Wawan.
Meanwhile, PLH Biak Regional Secretary Numfor Lot Yensenem representing the Biak Numfor Regent, Herry Ario Naap, appreciated the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy for making Biak Numfor one of the locations for the Synakoda FGD. Tourism is said to be one of the focuses of regional development so that it can provide great benefits for the community.
"Tourism from the past until now will continue and always be pursued by the regional government by coordinating and consulting with the provincial government. How is it good in terms of regulation, but also in terms of financial and technological alignments to be able to manage tourism that is not around in Biak Numfor Regency, "he said.
