Teacher's house burned by KKB in Puncak Papua



A number of houses or houses for teachers of SMA Negeri 1 Ilaga in Wako Village were burned down on Friday (13/4) night.

The teacher's house was allegedly burned by an armed criminal group (KKB) in the Ilaga District, Puncak Regency.

The Head of Public Relations of the Papuan Police, Kombes Ahmad Mustofa Kamal, confirmed the incident.
 
"Yes, it happened last night at 19.00 WIT," said Kamal on Saturday (14/5) morning.

After receiving information that the KKB house was burned, the joint officers immediately went to the scene but the perpetrators had already left.

"Ops Damai Cartenz personnel conducted a sweep around the crime scene, but there was no movement from the KKB Group," said Kamal.
 
Kombes Kamal confirmed that there were no fatalities or injuries in the teacher's house burning incident.

"Fortunately there were no casualties when the incident occurred," he said.

Kamal said the local authorities had consolidated in an effort to anticipate further actions from the burning.
 
Previously, 11 official houses or mes- sages belonging to health workers (nakes) and teachers in the Baya Biru District, Paniai Regency, Papua, on Saturday (19/3) night were burned by the KKB.

Based on the identification results, the perpetrators of the arson were members of the KKB led by Lewis Kogoya.
