26.4 Tons of Bulk Cooking Oil Has Been Distributed to Traders in Mimika

Head of Trade at the Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag) of Mimika Regency, Papua, Selfina Pappang, said that bulk cooking oil had been distributed to traders at a number of kiosks in Mimika.

He explained that the quota for bulk cooking oil for the first phase of Mimika was 26.4 tons, before being distributed to small kiosks.
 
In addition, it is also channeled through the operation of the cooking oil market twice.
 
Market operations were carried out in two locations, namely Eme Neme Yauware with 2 tons and at Pasar Sentral 4 tons for a total of 6 tons.

During market operations, public interest in buying cooking oil at low prices was very high.

It was explained that traders who sold bulk cooking oil had previously registered on the Smirah application and now as many as 26.4 tons have all been distributed.
 
"We have checked with distributors that the first phase of bulk oil has run out so it has been distributed to kiosks and we also facilitate two traders to the central market," said Selfina, Tuesday (10/5/2022).
 
The Department of Industry and Trade also continues to monitor the price of the bulk cooking oil.

"Before it is distributed to business actors, they have to fill out an integrity pact, where they sign on a seal that the price should not exceed Rp. 14 thousand. If there is a violation, we will immediately submit a back list to the distributor to no longer distribute cooking oil," he said.

The plan is that there will be a second phase of bulk cooking oil distribution in Mimika. However, for the second stage, according to information from distributors, they are still waiting for incoming ships.
 
“Usually if the container count means the quota is above 20 tons. If they decrease, they will lose. We will confirm it after receiving definite information regarding the second stage quota," he concluded.
