This is the figure of Lamek Taplo, the leader of the Papuan KKB Ngalum Kupel who recently attacked the church and injured 2 officers.

It is known that the Papuan KKB launched an attack on a church in Apmisibil Village, Okbibab District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua on Sunday (1/5/2022).

As a result, Bripda Vanny Putra Perdana, a member of the Cartenz Peace Preventive Task Force, was shot in the left hip.
 
Meanwhile, a member of the Kodim Battalion 431/SSP Satgas, Private Willy Jhon Basanez was shot in the leg.

The Head of Public Relations of the Papuan Police, Kombes Ahmad Mustofa Kamal, said the attack was allegedly carried out by the Papuan KKB Ngalum Kupel.

So far, the Papuan Ngalum Kupel KKB has been led by Lamek Taplo.

Lamek Taplo may not be as famous as other Papuan KKB leaders such as Egianus Kogoya or even Goliath Tabuni.

Lamek Taplo has the full name Lamek Alipky Taplo.

He served as Commander of the TPNPB Ngalum Gupel Regional Defense Command.
 
His name first emerged when he claimed to have shot down an M 17 helicopter belonging to the TNI which was found in the Papuan Mountains area in February 2020.

In its report, Lamek Taplo said they were responsible for the helicopter crash.

1. Attack the worker truck

The Lamek Taplo group has been involved in a number of terrorist acts in the Bintang Mountains in recent months, including the attack on a truck working on the trans-Papua road for the Yahukimo-Pegunungan Bintang section on March 2, 2020 in Oksop District.
 
Three workers were injured in this incident.

2. Shoot down the Indonesian Air Force plane

They also shot the Indonesian Air Force CASA CN-2909 aircraft on March 22, 2020 before landing at Oksibil Airport. There are seven holes in the fuselage.

However, seven crew members were not injured.

3. Attacking members of the Indonesian Army

Then, the group attacked a number of members of the Indonesian Army who were on patrol in Serambakon on March 29, 2020.
 
One TNI member, Second Sergeant Irfan Setiawan, suffered an injury to his leg while trying to avoid KKB's shot from the top of a hill.

4. Shoot 3 TNI soldiers

Finally, the Lamek Taplo group attacked the Border Security Task Force from the 312/Kala Hitam Infantry Battalion in Serambakon District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Tuesday (20/10/2020).

Three TNI members were injured in this incident.
 
“They attacked TNI officers who were temporarily on duty to ensure the safety of the local community.

This condition also has an impact on development activities in the area,” said Izak.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the National Liberation Army for the Free Papua Movement, Sebby Sambom, stated that his party was responsible for the attack on members of the Pamtas Battalion 312/KH Satgas in Serambakon.

"We will continue to attack the security forces, both TNI and Polri, who are on duty in the Bintang Mountains area. Our goal is for negotiations to release Papua from Indonesia," said Sebby.

5. Attack the church

Most recently, they launched an attack on a church in Apmisibil Village, Okbibab District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua on Sunday (1/5/2022).
 
A gun battle broke out when KKB suddenly fired at the joint officers who were securing worship activities at the church.

The Head of the Bintang Mountains Police, AKBP Cahyo Sukarnito, said that gunfire broke out at around 10.45 WIT.
 
"KKB carried out an attack on TNI-Polri personnel who were carrying out security services at the Apmisibil Village Church."

"The direction of the shot from the side of the Okibab Middle School was towards the protestant church," said Cahyo, contacted by Tribun-Papua.com from Jayapura, Sunday afternoon.

Both victims are currently receiving medical treatment, and are in a conscious condition.

It is planned to immediately be referred to Jayapura, using a helicopter.

Meanwhile, joint forces are still pursuing the perpetrators.

"Each post increases vigilance and preparedness," said the Chief of Police, Cahyo.
 
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ahmad Mustofa Kamal, said the attack was carried out by the Ngalum Kupel KKB.

"They (KKB) carried out attacks from two directions suspected of being the Ngalum Kupel Group," said Kamal in Jayapura.

This case is being handled by the Bintang Mountains Police.

"The post-incident situation is relatively safe and conducive," he explained.
