Many Interests, 2 Favorite Schools in Manokwari Hold PPDB Online

A total of two leading high schools in Manokwari, West Papua, namely SMA Negeri 1 and SMA Negeri 2 opened online admissions for new students (PPDB) for the 2022-2023 Academic Year. Implementation of an online system to avoid long queues of prospective students.

Kambu said the PPDB had been going on since 2020. The method of admitting new students using an online system was proven to be effective in preventing potential commotion due to students who were not accepted.

Kambu said that unlike the two favorite schools, a number of other high schools in Manokwari will hold new student admissions on June 20-July 2 2022. "We are only open for two days so that students who are not accepted in the two schools (SMAN 1 and SMAN 2) can enroll in other schools," he said.
 
He specifically mentioned that in the two schools, prospective junior high school graduates or equivalent will compete for a capacity quota of 288 each. There are four criteria to enter the two schools, namely 50 percent zoning, 15 percent affirmation, 30 percent achievement, and 5 percent. percent of transfer students.
 
Restrictions on the number of students are adjusted to the availability of study space owned by the school. In addition, it is also to provide equal distribution of students to all schools in the region.
 
West Papua Disdik continues to encourage private high schools and other public high schools to improve the quality of services and foster parental confidence to enter their schools. "We cannot limit the public's perception of the superiority of services provided by SMAN 1 and 2. What we can do now is to encourage other private and public schools to be equal in quality education services," said Kambu.
