Paulus Waterpauw invites the national mass media to earth Y-20 in West Papua

Acting (Pj) Governor of West Papua Paulus Waterpauw stated that the success of West Papua's development cannot be separated from the participation of the mass media in providing accurate, credible information and educating the public.

"The role of the national press in the regions is very important to spread the good news of the Youth Twenty (Y-20) which will take place from June 17 to 20 in Manokwari Regency," he said in Manokwari, West Papua Province, Tuesday.
 
The press media, he said, must be involved in spreading positive news about the Women Twenty (W-20) which has just ended, and West Papua's preparations to welcome the Y-20 again.
 
Waterpauw said that through media coverage, the G-20 participating countries could easily access information about West Papua Province in Eastern Indonesia, which was the host of the W-20 and Y-20 events.
 
"The world, especially the G-20 participating countries, must know that West Papua Province is the host of the W-20 and Y-20. I hope this will be a record of the committee and the government's technical agencies in embracing the national press media in West Papua," said Waterpauw.
 
Furthermore, Melkias Werinussa, Head of the W-20 and Y-20 Local Committees for West Papua Province, said that the preparation for the Y-20 implementation in Manokwari, the capital city of West Papua Province, had reached 95 percent.
 
"The preparation of the committee has been 95 percent, we expect the participation of the press media in positive reporting and educating the people of West Papua about the benefits of Y-20 for youth in this province ahead of the opening on June 17," he said.
 
He also invited the youth of West Papua as the frontline of development to help ensure the security and comfort of the city of Manokwari ahead of the arrival of the Y-20 ambassadors until the peak of the implementation of the activities later.
