People Asked to Take Care of Lake Sentani, Joko Sunaryo: Has Strategic Value

In order to avoid environmental damage, the Jayapura Regency Government, Papua asks the community to preserve Lake Sentani.

This was conveyed by Assistant II for Economic Affairs at the Jayapura Regency Secretariat, Joko Sunaryo.
 
Joko conveyed this when delivering his remarks at the Phase II Community Consultation Implementation (PKM) with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, Directorate General of Water Resources, Papua River Basin Center, in Sentani, Thursday (23/6/2022).
 
"In Indonesia, there are 15 strategic lakes that have been determined by the government to be guarded and preserved, one of which is Lake Sentani, therefore, people must continue to protect their environment," said Joko.
 
According to him, Lake Sentani has strategic value, both from the economic sector, and so on.

"Therefore, we must pay close attention to this lake, so that it can produce positive values for the community," he said.
 
He continued, Lake Sentani is beneficial for the livelihood of many people and needs to be protected, not polluted.

"Why, because this is where people live to make their livelihood and live," he added.
