The Jayapura Regency Government encourages business actors to have packaging labeling

The Regency Government (Pemkab) of Jayapura, Papua Province encourages all business actors in the region to have labels on the packaging of merchandise.

Assistant two for the economic affairs of the Jayapura Regency Secretariat, Joko Sunaryo, told ANTARA in Jayapura, Thursday, that the labeling of merchandise is aimed at making production available and widely consumed by consumers.

"So it is necessary for production to have food labels from the drug and food control agency as well as from halal products," he said.

According to Joko, labeling can make it easier for consumers to find out the list of ingredients used or a product that can only be consumed by adults.

"We hope that all traders in Jayapura Regency can implement this," he said.

He explained that the labeling of the product can also make consumers feel confident to consume the merchandise.

"Because the first buyers already know and they believe that the food is safe to eat," he said again.

He added that his party also appealed to all business actors in the 'kembai umbai' earth to be an example for other regions in Papua in marketing products that already have a food label (food).
