Y-20 delegates declaration of peace in diversity from West Papua
Hundreds of participants from the Youth Twenty (Y-20) pre summit, delegates from G-20 member countries, declared unity in peaceful diversity at the Y-20 side event in Manokwari Regency, West Papua, Saturday.
Chairman of the Y-20 Local Committee for West Papua Province Melkias Werinussa said the declaration was made in the form of signing a statement with the delegates at the Taruna Kasuari Nusantara Vocational High School in West Papua in Manokwari.
"The declaration of We Are United In Diversity, Peace Letter From Youth in Manokwari is one of the messages of the world's youth that will be conveyed at the G20 Summit in Bali Province," said Werinussa.
From the joint declaration at the Taruna Kasuari Nusantara High School, the delegates visited the historical sites of religion and civilization of Papuans on the island of Mansinam to carry out the reforestation agenda and the release of turtle hatchlings.
"On the island of Mansinam, apart from seeing historical evidence of Papuan civilization, the delegates also campaigned for conservation through planting tree seedlings and releasing turtle hatchlings," said Werinussa.
He said that the peak of the Y-20 pre summit IV side event began this Saturday night, at the Aston Niu Hotel Manokwari with the agenda of dialogue, negotiation and proposing solutions to urgent issues in the world.
"The main result of the implementation of Y-20 is to produce policy recommendations from the youth of member countries at the G20 Summit," he said.
