The 16,000 participants of BPJS Kesehatan YPMAK include others from the Amungme and Kamoro tribes as well as five kinship tribes.

The meeting of the Mimika Deputy Regent, Johannes Rettob, was held in the meeting room of the Horison Diana Hotel, Jalan Budi Otomo, Timika at around 10:00 WIT.

"So the meeting with YPMAK wants to give an overview of what has been implemented in the fields of education, health, and socio-cultural economy. In implementing YPMAK, there are obstacles to be faced in the field. So the solution is presented by talking to the government, because all of that is in the government," said Mimika Deputy Regent Johannes Rettob.

He said that discussing with YPMAK was a health problem, one of which was BPJS Kesehatan participants specifically for the 7 tribes in Mimika.

"I give appreciation to YPMAK that so far it has contributed 16,000 people to the BPS Health payment contribution to the 7 tribes," he said.

He explained that the BPJS Kesehatan YPMAK program for 10,000 people had been carried out in 2021 and this year it was added 6,000. so a total of 16,000 people get the benefits of BPJS Health YPMAK.

According to data from the Mimika Disdukcapil, it turns out that BPJS Kesehatan Pemda Mimika through the APBD is only 19.56 percent, the Ministry of Social Affairs through the APBN is 41.98 percent, specifically for Papuans with a total of 52,000 people.

Meanwhile, the state civil apparatus (ASN specifically for Papuan natives) is 3.19 percent, the private sector is 3.98 percent, and for YPMAK it is 34.3 percent, "explained the Vice Regent.

Johannes continued, the government is currently thinking about how to collaborate well so that all communities are accommodated.

Currently, he said, BPJS Kesehatan participants in the Mimika Regional Government are decreasing almost every year. He hopes that the BPJS health program will not only be followed by indigenous Papuans, but the citizens of the archipelago can also participate.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Director of Porogran and Monev YPMAK, Nur Ihfa Karupukaro, was grateful for the presence of the Deputy Regent of Mimika, Johannes Rettob to discuss programs that needed government intervention.

YPMAK manages PT Freeport Indonesia's partnership fund which is very limited but has many services.

He said BPJS Health services to 16,000 registered participants including payments were directed to become government guarantors.

"We know that health is free for the community. I hope the Amungme Kamoro community and five kinship tribes become the target of YPMAK services as part of BPJS Kesehatan," he said.

He added, in the future this discussion will be brought to related agencies such as the Social Service and Disdukcapil Mimika Regency so that Mimika residents, especially native Papuans, can get free health services through BPJS Kesehatan," he added.
