NGO Traps Papua Encourages Communal-Based Green Economy Development in Jayapura Regency



The Papuan People's Working Network (Jerat) Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) through the Advocacy Sector has promoted a communal-based green economy work program (Pokja) in four villages.

the field of Advocacy for Snagging Papua, Sabatha Rumadas mentioned Regent Regulation (Perbub) No. 5 of 2021 concerning communal-based green economy development in Jayapura Regency.

In connection with the Perbub, his party held a meeting mediated by Assistant II of the Regional Secretary for the Economy and Development, Joko Sunaryo.
 
"Seeing that it is very important to compile a derivative of the Perbub, as a technical guide for regional apparatus organizations related to the green economy, tourism, and plantations," he said.

According to him, this guideline aims to harmonize work programs in the village and related agencies to support each other.

The four villages that became the focus of assistance for the Papuan Snare were Dondai Village, Waibu District in Development Area 1.

Dormena Village, Depapre District, in Development Area 2.
 
Pupehabu Village, Kemtuk Gresi District, in Development Area 3.

Tabbean Village, Yapsi District, Area under Development 4.
 
Meanwhile, Assistant II of the Regional Secretary for the Economy and Development, Joko Sunaryo said that there are five elements to encourage a green economy.

The five; linking working groups with related agencies , integration forums, human resources, methods used, and drivers.
 
Sunaryo explained that several related parties will be involved in the working group, including local governments, stakeholders, indigenous peoples, religious leaders, and the media.

"Climate change is related to land use change as a result of changes in our environment, from the four development areas it will be adjusted to the existing potential, both tourism, plantations, fisheries, from a social and cultural perspective," he said.
