Residents of Jayapura Regency Asked to Keep Tourist Places Clean

Residents of Jayapura Regency are asked to maintain cleanliness in every tourist destination area.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Regent of Jayapura Jayapura, Giri Wijayantoro, after opening a training program on managing tourist destinations and environmental hygiene, sanitation and waste management, in Sentani, Monday (4/7/2022).

"No need to be grandiose, but we need to manage it well, meaning that garbage and other things must be considered, therefore there is a need for an active role from the community in this matter," said Giri to Tribun-Papua.com.
 
Shared awareness, said Giri, will create comfort for every visitor while traveling

Moreover, Jayapura Regency will host the 6th Congress of Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago (KMAN), on October 24 to 29.
 
"Definitely many who want to travel in Jayapura Regency, so this cleanliness is also the main thing to continue to be well maintained," he said.

According to him, if this is considered, then all tourist sites in Jayapura Regency will become the most comfortable place for tourists from within and outside Papua.
 
Meanwhile, the Head of the Jayapura Regency Tourism Office, Jhon Tegai, agreed with the Deputy Regent Giri Wijayantoro.

"So what has been conveyed by the deputy regent regarding cleanliness in this tourist spot is very good, because then it can create comfort for tourists," he said.

No matter the garbage, Jhon added, the public must also pay attention to safety at every tourist spot.
 
"This means that activities that can disturb the comfort of tourists, such as alcohol, it would be nice not to be done in tourist attractions, because doing so will affect people to travel," he said.

Jhon hopes that public awareness will maintain the tourist attractions.

The hope is that every tourist who comes to tourist attractions in Jayapura Regency will feel comfortable like being at home.
