The government supports the development of young Papuan talents in the field of sports to continue to grow and develop through the cooperation agreement that has been made between the Papua Special Sports High School (Smankor) and the Japanese Sports High School Yamagata Chuou Gakkou.

Expert Staff to Deputy II for Human Development at the Presidential Staff Office, Rini Modouw in Jayapura, Wednesday, said that it is very important to develop young Papuan talents in the field of sports.

"Because Papua is known as a repository of athletes, there needs to be good mentors and coaches but also supported by funds," he said while attending the signing of the MoU between the Papuan High School and Sports High School from Japan, Yamagata Chuou Gakkou.

According to Rini, with the MoU between the Papuan Senior High School and the Yamagata Chuou Gakkou sports high school, in the future her party will pay attention to the school building as well as the Human Resources (HR) in the educational institution.

"So we, together with the Papua Provincial Education and Archives Office, together with the Papuan High School Educational Institution, will build connections so that during the leadership of President Joko Widodo, he will pay attention to the school building," he said.

In addition, he said, his party will also build connections with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in the development of the Papuan High School building in the future.

He explained that the results of the MoU will be submitted to the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) so that the development of young Papuan talents can be in line with education in schools.

"Because the development of human resources is very important so that when graduates from the Papua High School of Education can have a strong character," he said.
