West Papua's economic development continues to be pushed through

Presidential Special Staff Billy Mambrasar said President Joko Widodo continued to encourage the acceleration of economic development in Papua and West Papua through the creative efforts of Papua Young Inspiration (PMI) as a government partner.

Billy Mambrasar in Manokwari, West Papua, Sunday, said that he was in West Papua with Deputy IV of the State Intelligence Agency IGM Kartikajaya to discuss the acceleration of development in Papua and West Papua.

"For West Papua, we discussed the action plan from Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 9 of 2020 which is encouraged through partnerships and institutions," he explained.

Deputy IV of BIN was appointed by President Jokowi as the coordinator for the acceleration of economic development.

While in West Papua, Billy and IGM Kartikajaya will have a meeting with the Acting Governor of West Papua Paulus Waterpauw, West Papua Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Tahi Silitonga, leaders of regional apparatus organizations (OPD) and private entrepreneurs in the region.

According to him, developing the West Papuan economy requires the role of all parties, including the consistent private sector such as Papua Muda Inspirasi (PMI).

"At every meeting, the Deputy conveys a message from the President that all partners and institutions in West Papua support the PMI movement," said Billy.

To see firsthand the progress of accelerating development in West Papua, President Jokowi is scheduled to make a working visit to West Papua in the near future.

"Mr. President will visit West Papua, the date is still a secret but of course in the near future this year," said Billy.
