Jayapura Regency Government Invites Communities and Environmental Activists to Plant 1000 Moringa Trees on Yotoro Hill



Concern for the environment continues to be carried out by the Jayapura Regency Government together with the Menoken Community, and environmental activists to plant 1,000 trees in Yotoro Hill, Kwadeware Village, Waibu District, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province, Sunday (28/8/2022).
 
In addition, taking part in the activity, Nature Lovers Students (Mapala) from Cendrawasih University, Science and Technology University, and youth from Kwadeware Village.
 
Head of the Jayapura Regency Environmental Service (DLH), Abdul Rahman Basri, said the program to preserve the environment was sustainable in order to provide development education development in the environmental sector.

"This activity is a follow-up to the planting activity in 2021, planting trees on Yotoro Hill," he told Tribun-Papua.com, Sunday (28/8/2022).
 
He further said that Yotoro Hill was chosen because the local area is critical and dry but has good tourism potential in the future.

That way, in order to have a good impact in realizing a new development or ecosystem by planting trees, it will prevent erosion and improve water quality.

Abdul Rahman Basri explained that the mission of sustainable environmental preservation is part of local government programs related to regional spatial planning, development, production forests, and conservation that can be protected together.
 
Still according to Abdul Rahman Basri, planting 1,000 trees with the Moringa tree species so that their use is to encourage the community's economy.
 
Community involvement to synergize with the Jayapura Regency government from the district and village in order to implement environmental programs to provide innovation and motivation in the context of development.
 
The planting program is carried out sustainably in the area together with the Environmental Service, it continues to carry out reforestation, reforestation, as well as the impact of waste and garbage.

It aims to provide awareness to community groups to protect the environment.
