PLN Gives RI Anniversary Gifts to Free Electricity Installation for 630 Poor Families

PT PLN (Persero) Main Unit for Papua and West Papua Regions gave a special gift during the commemoration of the 77th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia by helping install free electricity for 630 underprivileged families in the two easternmost provinces of Indonesia.
 
General Manager of PLN Main Unit for Papua and West Papua Region Moch Andi Adchaminoerdin in Jayapura, Wednesday, said the free electricity installation program through the 'Light Up The Dream' program is an initiative of PLN's ranks to realize the dreams of underprivileged communities in Papua and West Papua to enjoy electricity.

"We are grateful to be able to help underprivileged people who have not been able to enjoy electricity," said Andy in a written statement received in Manokwari.

The free electricity connection, he said, came from a donation from PLN employees of the Papua and West Papua Regional Main Unit. electricity. Hopefully it can be useful for the community, "he said.

Apart from Jayapura, this program was simultaneously carried out in seven other PLN Customer Service Implementation Units (UP3) in Papua and West Papua.

Out of a total of 630 underprivileged families who received the assistance, the PLN UP3 Nabire area became the largest recipient of assistance with a total of 300 families.

Andy said that the simultaneous power-on program for the underprivileged was carried out simultaneously in order to welcome the 77th anniversary of Indonesia's independence.

Previously, Engel and his family had to connect to their neighbors' electricity to be able to enjoy electricity. "I really appreciate it because PLN has come to help and provide electricity to our house, which has a weak economy," he said.

Another beneficiary, Tinus Aiba, a resident of Soribo Village, Manokwari, said that his dream to have his own electricity meter in his house was realized thanks to the help of PLN.
