At the Terang Papua festival, every child will attend tutoring (Bimbel) for one year.

Mayor of Sorong, Drs. Ec. Lambert Jitmau, MM, in his speech welcomed and fully supported the Papua Bright Festival activities to elementary schools in Sorong City, as an effort to improve the quality of education services in Sorong City, through non-formal education like this.

“I need to say that formal education in Sorong City is currently increasing from time to time, both in terms of human resources and other supporting indicators. Starting from the level of PAUD/TK, SD and SMP, the progress has been quite extraordinary, which has been able to adapt to current global developments. So that with the presence of the Bright Papua Festival, which will specifically focus on elementary school education, it is hoped that it can provide education," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Prosperous Indonesia-Barokah Foundation, Yasin Wijaya said that his party was collaborating with the Ukip Sorong campus to provide learning guidance services such as literacy and mathematics.

"We took the program from a very good curriculum, three times a week and consistent for 1 year of subjects, as an addition and support to improve the quality of education in schools, in the community it could be in community places, it could be in the church or in the community. Mosques can be anywhere. So that's what we are doing in Sorong city," explained Wijaya.

Wijaya said, this program will continue from year to year. Because education cannot be done in the short term and must be long term to be able to achieve its goals.

"What I heard in Papua, the city of Sorong is that there are many community places that still lack teaching staff, so with the help of brothers and sisters, these volunteers' needs for teaching staff can be more fulfilled," he concluded.
