In fact, the former regent of Jayawijaya for two terms said that the three new autonomous regions laws which were passed by the DPR RI on June 30 had already been signed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.

“The three new autonomous regions have been signed by the President. I've already shown the evidence, if it has been signed by the President. It means that we will execute it immediately,” said the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Jhon Wempi Watipo, answering the media's questions after holding a meeting at the Merauke Regent's Office Auditorium, Friday (29/7).

For its derivative in the form of a government regulation (PP), continued Wempi Wetipo, it will soon be prepared to further prepare for the inauguration and inauguration of the acting governor in the 3 new autonomous regions. “It will soon be this way. It means that our task is its derivative to be processed immediately. We are waiting for the decision by the DPR on June 30, 2022 yesterday, while being promulgated, we will socialize. Because the Minister of Home Affairs gave the task to me and the team to immediately socialize and make field visits to see the preparations. If we have started from Nabire, Wamena, then today is the last day in Merauke with all the infrastructure that is donated or borrowed, which we will use for the process of structuring the government until the 2024 gubernatorial election," he explained at length.

The Vice Minister of Home Affairs explained that after this visit, his party will return to Jakarta and will evaluate the three points visited. Next, we will see what kind of support the local government has and the venue for the inauguration and inauguration of the acting governor.

So that when the definitive official has been elected in 2024, the governor's office facilities and equipment from the 3 new autonomous regions of the province have been built so that the definitive officials are more focused on building the welfare of the Papuan people in the 3 new autonomous regions.

Regarding the criteria for acting governors in 3 new autonomous regions, the Vice Minister of Home Affairs revealed that there are no criteria. What is clear, however, is that karteker are officials who hold echelon I positions at the level of ministries and central institutions. "So the center is determined for the Papuan people," he said.
