Dozens of Manokwari soccer coaches won national coaching licenses

A total of 19 football coaches in Manokwari have successfully won national coaching licenses at both levels C and D from the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI).

The Regent of Manokwari Hermus Indou, Monday, assessed that with the achievement of the coaching license achieved, the local coaches have helped the development of football in the region.

"We hope that coaches who are licensed by PSSI can get closer to football clubs in Manokwari so that the application of their knowledge can run," he said.

Hermus stated that the development of athletes and football clubs in Manokwari could develop because the coaches had acquired special knowledge during their soccer training at PSSI.

He appreciated the initiative of the trainers to obtain a coaching license which is considered very supportive of efforts to develop the sports sector in Manokwari which still needs serious attention.

Hermus said that according to the direction of the Acting Governor of West Papua Paulus Waterpauw, sports development in Manokwari needs to be done, one of which is by not bringing soccer athletes from outside the region, including soccer coaches.

Human resources in the area, especially Manokwari, are said to be able to prove themselves worthy and equal in football, both in terms of coaches and soccer athletes. However, he acknowledged that there needs to be support from all policy makers in Manokwari.

The coaching license certificate was symbolically handed over by Hermus to the national D-licensed soccer coach, Jarinus Mandacan during a joint morning rally held in the Manokwari Regent's office yard.
