Jayapura Regency Government Collaborates with Dozens of Media to Succeed KMAN VI



The Jayapura Regency Government through the Communications and Information Service (Kominfo) collaborated with dozens of media to make the VI Congress of Indigenous Peoples VI (KMAN VI) a success, which will take place on October 24-30, 2022.

The signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the local committee of KMAN VI to support the publication of KMAN VI took place in the Meeting Room of the Regent's Office.

The chairman of the KMAN VI Local Committee, Timothius Demetouw explained a series of KMAN VI agendas including, the submission of the codeification of the surrender of 14 traditional villages, the submission of mapping of customary areas and the granting of customary forest rights to customary forests.
 
As well as a series of other congress activities, namely workshops which will take place at 12 points in Jayapura Regency and City.

At the opening ceremony, a dialogue will be held by traditional leaders from seven traditional regions in Papua and the archipelago with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo and several ministers who accompany him.

Meanwhile, the workshop will be held for two days on October 25-26, 2022.

"For commission and plenary meetings at the Barnabas Youwe Stadium for three days, and at the closing, Bakar Batu Nusantara was held to close the implementation of KMAN VI which took place in Tanah Tabi," he said in Gunung Merah, Sentani City District, Wednesday (7/9/2022). ).
 
Tomothius said that the media that have collaborated can be able to follow every implementation from the opening to the closing of KMAN VI.

KMAN VI activities that will take place will be accompanied by the VI Lake Sentani Festival (VIth FDS), and Indigenous Peoples Awakening Day so that the media is also involved in the coverage.
 
The Head of the Communications and Informatics Service, Gustaf Griapon, said that about 28 media were included in the collaboration, including print, electronic, and online media.

"So it's not only news that is in Jayapura Regency, but publication of activities related to preparation in the community, both in Kayo Pulo and Enggros, Jayapura City, has a structure and a person in charge," he said.
 
The Media Center, Gustaf continued, will schedule a visit to the Sarasshan locations in the City and District of Jayapura.

Gustaf revealed that the cooperation value of Rp. 25 million was obtained by each media. Gustaf hopes that the media and journalists can work professionally during the coverage of KMAN VI in Jayapura Regency.
