Kaimana Regency will soon have a fisherman's gas station

The Regent of Kaimana, West Papua, Freddy Thie, confirmed that in the near future a Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU) specifically for fishermen, which is part of the local government's vision and mission, will be built in his area to facilitate and assist fishermen in obtaining subsidized fuel oil (BBM).

"I ask the fisheries service to immediately prepare fisherman cards according to the existing fishing groups. In the near future, a fisherman's gas station will be built that will provide subsidized fuel," said Regent Freddy in Kaimana, Saturday.

Previously, Regent Freddy held a meeting to discuss the distribution of subsidized fuel in Kaimana and controlling regional inflation with PT Pertamina, gas station managers and Premium, Oil and Solar (APMS) agents at the Kaimana Regent's Office, Friday (23/9).

In the meeting, Regent Freddy asked the Kaimana Fisheries Service to immediately prepare fisherman cards to be distributed to local fishermen so that when the fishermen's gas stations operate, the business actors in the fisheries sector can immediately take advantage of them.

"I want this to run parallel, fisherman's gas stations are built, but fisherman's cards must be prepared so that when the fishermen's gas stations operate, the fishing communities who already have a card can immediately take advantage of the existing facilitation," explained Freddy, who has a background as an entrepreneur.

Head of the Kaimana Fisheries Service, Gustaf Werfete, said that his staff had facilitated the processing of Marine and Fishery Business Actor Cards (KUSUKA) for Papuan Orang Asli (OAP) and non-Papuan fishermen, aka Non-OAP.

The total number of fishery business actors who have been registered and have KUSUKA are 572 people.

Gustaf hopes that when a regulation is issued regarding the fuel distribution system to fishermen by the Kaimana Regency Government, it can accommodate the rights of fishermen holding KUSUKA.

"So far, we have made KUSUKA cards for fishermen in Kaimana. So, 572 business actors have been registered. KUSUKA holders for OAP and non-OAP. We hope that when there are regulations relating to the distribution of special subsidized fuel for fishermen after the fishermen's gas stations operate, KUSUKA Card holders can also be accommodated," he hoped.
