Mayor Frans: the additional budget for Jayapura has a positive impact

Acting Mayor of Jayapura, Frans Pekey, said that the addition of the budget in the 2022 APBD amendment that had been determined by the local Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) was expected to have a positive impact on the welfare of the community.

"Of course it will have an impact on development in Jayapura City because we get additional budget from Regional Original Revenue (PAD) and from transfer funds from the central government and Papua Province," he said in Jayapura, Tuesday.

He explained that there are several new programs from several Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) whose budgets will be allocated but also in the revised APBD, his party will also complete the programs that have been implemented in 2021.

"There are also activities that have not been paid for so that with the existence of a revised APBD, it can provide certainty on the allocation of financing for all parties related to development in Jayapura City," he said.

For the absorption of the budget in the revised APBD, he said, from the Jayapura City 2022 Main APBD of Rp. 1.3 trillion, it had reached 47 percent of the temporary finance for physical activities of 70 percent.

"Of course, with the spirit of accelerating budget absorption, we are optimistic that until December 2022 it can be completed," he said again.

He explained that in completing the program, it is not only related to budget absorption but also the quality results according to planning and on time and accountability must also be precise.

"So it must comply with the administration, rules, and be on time in the accountability report because December is the month of administrative completion," he said.

He added that thus all Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) leaders would be able to complete all programs by November 2022.

The Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) for the 2022 Jayapura City amendment has been set at Rp1.4 trillion.
