Papua Youth Creative Hub Project Already 84%, Target Completion in October 2022

The construction of the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building as a place for developing the talents and skills of young Papuans is proceeding according to plan. On an area of 1.5 hectares, the building, which was initiated by the Head of BIN, General Pol (Ret.) Prof. Budi Gunawan together with President Joko Widodo, was enthusiastically welcomed by the youth and the people of Papua.

"The construction of the PYCH building has reached 84.137 percent," said the Head of the Papua Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center, Directorate General of Human Settlements, Ministry of PUPR, Corneles Sagrim in a written statement, Wednesday (21/9/2022).

Corneles explained that the construction of this building has started since October 2021. The plan is for the building to be completed and inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in October 2022 or December 2022 at the latest.
 
The groundbreaking of the PYCH building was carried out by President Jokowi in October 2021. Head of BIN Budi Gunawan also gave a speech during the groundbreaking.

"We built this building with very good quality. Pak Jokowi plans to inaugurate this building," Corneles explained.

This building has various facilities, such as co-working space, space for learning technology, digital technology, concert hall, space for product innovations, dormitories, and sports facilities.

The main building area is around 3,520 square meters and the supporting buildings are 1,812 square meters. The PYCH building will also be equipped with a dormitory building or dormitory room as well as a parking area with a capacity of 53 cars, 154 motorbikes and landscapes.
 
In addition, Cornelis said, the architectural design of the building was taken from traditional houses in Papua, namely the Kariwari traditional house and the Honai traditional house. This building will also display ornaments from seven regions in Papua.

"Ornaments of 7 traditional territories. The points have been designed, they just need to be installed," he added.

Later, young people who are members of the Inspirational Young Papua (PMI) which are fostered by the BIN of the Republic of Indonesia will be used by PMI in carrying out activities. As well as being at the forefront in mobilizing youth to take advantage of these facilities.

Progress Details Development

As of the 51st week, the progress of PYCH Jayapura's physical development has reached 84.137%, from the planned progress of 82.658%, or deviated faster by 1.479%.

The details of the progress of PYCH development, among others, the planning stage reached 1.84% (weight 2.00%), preparation stage 3.57% (weight 4.43%), structural work 40.67% (weight 40.08%) , architectural work 12.34% (weight 15.78%), mechanical electrical work 12.78% (weight 20.55%) and landscape work 13.51% (weight 16.57%).

The work plan for the following week at the Main Building includes the installation of the dome roof covering, the work of exposing the 2nd floor beams, plastering and plastering work on the 2nd floor, and the installation of the kariwari facade.

In Dormitory Buildings A and B, including the installation of ceramic toilet floors, painting the 2nd floor ceiling, painting the 2nd floor walls and installing the 1st and 2nd floor frames.

In landscape work, among others, finishing the walls of utility buildings, installing paving blocks, garden work, channels and fences. The main building MEP works include electrical and electronic installations, hydrant installations and air conditioning installations.
