Regent Hermus pushes for electrical installation and renovation of Manokwari residents' houses

The Regent of Manokwari, Hermus Indou, has encouraged various useful program activities, such as electrical installation and house renovation, for people in need.

This was realized in the framework of the month of service to commemorate the 124th Anniversary of Manokwari, West Papua, from 8 October to 8 November.

"There is one thing that I hope will also work, namely housing renovations for very poor families with the hope that the quality of housing can be improved so that it is livable," said Hermus in Manokwari, Monday (19/9).

Hermus gave an example of activities that directly touch the community, namely the installation of electricity meters. He assessed that electrical installations are important because there are still some areas that have been reached by electricity infrastructure, but do not yet have direct electricity connections to people's homes.

In addition, he continued, environmental roads that have minor damage can also be OPD programs to be carried out during the month of service, including the provision of clean water and environmental cleanliness.

Hermus encouraged all regional apparatus organizations (OPD) to prepare activities that directly touch the community, while still adjusting the capabilities of the Manokwari Regency Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).

"We have asked the OPD to prepare activities that are not too many, but can directly touch the community as well as a form of building the image of the local government in our society," he added.

Things like that can be an effective activity for the OPD to carry out because it is still the responsibility of the regional government.

"I have reminded the OPD that they take the initiative to carry out basic activities as a form of local government services that are tailored to the capabilities of each of us OPD and according to the APBD," he said.
