Supiori district government builds 45 PAUD institutions in all villages

The Supiori Regency Government, Papua, has realized building 45 Early Childhood Education (PAUD) institutions in 38 villages in an effort to prepare superior human resources for children.

"Until the 2022/2023 academic year, Supiori Regency has built more than 100 percent or 45 PAUD institutions. In fact, several villages in Supiori already have three PAUDs," said Supiori Education and Culture Office Head Rafles Ngilamele in Biak, Wednesday.

The Head of Education, Rafles, acknowledged the important role of PAUD institutions in improving the capacity of human resources (HR) of Supiori's children.

"Seeing the importance of PAUD as an educational institution, it must be carried out in accordance with the needs and demands of parents, families and communities," said Rafles.

The Supiori district government continues to need to expand access and improve the quality of quality PAUD services.

According to Article 28 of the National Education System Law No. 20/2003, PAUD is a level given before children enter basic education at the age of 1-8 years.

In contrast to TK which is already more formal in nature, according to Rafles, PAUD is more of a play group

"Even so, in general, PAUD institutions also teach various good educations for skills and child development," he said.

Supiori Regency has established the education sector as one of the regional priority programs in addition to health, infrastructure, fisheries, tourism and community economic empowerment.
