Jayapura Poltekbang expect 68 graduates to work in the aviation industry

The Aviation Polytechnic (Poltekbang) Jayapura, Papua hopes that the first 68 graduates of the flight school can work in the entire aviation industry in Indonesia.

Director of the Jayapura Poltekbang Musri Kona in Jayapura, Tuesday, said that of the 68 cadets and cadets in the first batch, Papuan children were in great demand, so 60 percent of the funding for education was subsidized by the Ministry of Transportation.

"The graduates are diploma graduates, in three Air Traffic Management study programs, then Airport Management, and finally Airport Electrical Engineering," he said.
 
For this reason, his party continues to increase the quota for cadets and cadets, which are adjusted to the needs of the aviation industry.
 
"If we see the trend is still the next two to three years, the world of aviation will increase so that Poltekbang will open a new study program for air logistics, this is because we see that air cargo delivery in Papua is promising," he said.
 
Head of the Air Transportation HR Development Center Heri Sudarmaji said his party encouraged the Jayapura Poltekbang to always develop facilities and infrastructure, human resources, and collaborate with local governments.
 
“The school of the Ministry of Transportation has international references, both in terms of material and others. It may only be related to the problem of lecturers and lack of facilities, this is what we continue to encourage," he said.
 
According to Heri, transportation is important, whether land, sea, or air, because Indonesia is a big country.

Therefore, he said, it is a must to prepare skilled human resources so that they can occupy job positions in the Papua region, even Indonesia.
 
"We hope that in the future more Papuan sons and daughters will register at the Jayapura Poltekbang," he said.

Previously, the Jayapura Aviation Polytechnic held a graduation ceremony which was attended by 68 cadets and cadets from the first batch at the local campus, Tuesday.
