People's representatives support the TNI-Polri in crushing the KKB from West Papua

The leadership of the House of Representatives in West Papua Province supports the TNI-Polri in arresting the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) which continues to threaten the security of civilians and hinder development in this area.
 
He emphasized that the Chairman of the DPR for West Papua Province, Orgenes Wonggor, in Manokwari, Monday, responded to four civilians who died in the KKB attack on 14 Trans Papua Barat road workers, Thursday, September 29, 2022.
 
"First, I strongly condemn the barbarity of the KKB. Institutionally, the DPR of West Papua Province supports the apparatus (TNI-Polri) in pursuing and arresting the perpetrators to account for their actions before the law," said Orgenes.
 
He said that the savagery of the KKB in the region greatly disturbed the comfort and peace of civil society in general and indigenous Papuans in particular in remote areas who really missed the touch of development.
 
"The whole West Papuan people need development within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. There is no place in West Papua for groups with different ideological views," said Orgenes Wonggor.
 
Orgenes Wonggor also encouraged the Police and TNI institutions to conduct deeper investigations related to the practice of trading firearms and ammunition to civilians who are not authorized to control the equipment in accordance with applicable laws.
 
"Where did the group get the weapons and ammunition, this section needs to be investigated further by law enforcement officials, so that it does not pose a threat to the public, or to the security forces," said Wonggor.
 
Previously, the Acting Governor of West Papua Paul Waterpauw on an occasion in Manokwari stated that he strongly condemned the barbarity of the KKB which had attacked 14 Trans Papua West road workers.
 
The former Kabaintelkam Polri gives full trust to the Kasuari Commander and the West Papua Police Chief to immediately direct the troops to carry out a pursuit operation against the group hampering development.
 
"After the incident, I have communicated with the Kasuari Military Commander Maj. Gen. Gabriel Lema and the West Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Tahi Monang Silitonga to immediately pursue KKB wherever they are, arrest them!" said Waterpauw.
 
Paulus Waterpauw also appealed to the district government, village heads and indigenous Papuan communities in West Moskona to help the joint officers who are being deployed in the pursuit mission.
 
"The general public in the West Moskona area, Teluk Bintuni Regency so as not to panic, stay calm and help provide information to the authorities so that they can immediately arrest the group," said Waterpauw.
