KNPI advises the Ministry of Home Affairs to appoint the Acting Governor of Papua

Secretary of KNPI Keerom Regency Michael Sineri advised the Ministry of Home Affairs to appoint an acting governor in Papua so that public services can be maximized.

"We recommend the Ministry of Home Affairs to immediately deactivate the Governor of Papua temporarily and replace him with an official governor so that public services continue to run well," said Michael Sineri in a statement in Jakarta, Saturday (15/10).

Michael explained that public services in Papua were hampered because of Lukas Enembe's condition who was unable to work optimally. Lukas Enembe is sick and is a suspect in a corruption case. In addition, Papua Province also does not have a deputy governor who can carry out the wheels of government.

The secretary of the KNPI of Keerom Regency also suggested that Lukas Enembe as a leader must be brave to face the legal process at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"There is no need for any movement from certain individuals to guard the governor's residence," he emphasized.

He sees the need for the community to oversee the Luke Enembe case so that the examination with the KPK can run smoothly.

According to him, there is no need for the public to be a shield to protect the case that ensnared Lukas Enembe.

Previously, the United Papuan People's Organization urged and demanded the Minister of Home Affairs to immediately deactivate the Governor of Papua, then replace him with a temporary official, so that government services and public services can run.

Spokesman for the United Papuan People, Ali Kabiay, in a written statement in Jakarta, Saturday, stated that the pressure was one of 10 points in the statement of the organization's stance related to the alleged corruption case of Lukas Enembe.

"Papua Province currently does not have a deputy governor," he said.

They also affirmed their support for the KPK to eradicate corruption in Papua.
