Paniai Police investigates the Kebo District Office burning case
The Paniai Resort Police (Polres) investigated the burning of the Kebo District Office, Paniai Regency, Papua which occurred on Friday (30/9), at around 11.30 WIT.
The Head of Public Relations of the Papuan Police, Kombes Pol. Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, in Jayapura, Saturday, confirmed the burning of the Kebo District Office, Paniai Regency.
According to reports received, the incident began when the district head, Social Service staff, and district assistant officers finished delivering the BST and BLT BBM funds which were handed over to the village heads.
After the distribution of cash social assistance (BST) for basic necessities and direct cash assistance (BLT) for BBM to the community at the Kebo District Office, a group of people who were village officials came under the influence of alcohol while carrying sharp tools to the Kebo District Office and set the office on fire.
"The temporary motive for burning the Kebo District Office was because the perpetrators were disappointed that the salaries of village officials and the distribution of BLT in Kebo 1 Village, Kebo District were not paid according to the list, so this triggered the arson," said Kamal.
He stated that the Kebo District Office arson case is currently in the process of being investigated and investigated by the Paniai Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
From this case, investigators have conducted preliminary examinations of two witnesses, namely the Head of the Kebo District and district officials and the police have known the names of the perpetrators.
"Three people are suspected of being the perpetrators of the district office burning, namely IG, MG, and DG," said Kombes Kamal.
