Perum Bulog Papua ensures that the rice for the disaster is safe

The Public Company (Perum) Bulog Papua and West Papua Regional Offices ensure that the rice for disasters is in safe condition where the provincial government has a stock of 200 tons per year, while the district has 100 tons per year in Bumi Cenderawasih.

Regional Head of Perum BULOG Papua and West Papua, Raden Guna Dharma in Jayapura, Thursday, said this rice stock is provided every year, and if it is realized, it will be budgeted for the same amount.

"This quota is only issued in certain situations, during natural disasters, so please use it if there is a social impact and then also natural disasters both in the provincial and district governments," said Raden Guna Dharma.

According to Raden, Bulog's task is not only to ensure the stabilization of rice prices and rice stocks for the needs of the community, but also to emergency conditions in this case natural disasters.

"We also provide rice for natural disasters, both for the Provincial Government of Papua, West Papua and surrounding districts and cities," he said.

He explained that the stock of rice is available every year and if it is realized the quota will still be there the following year. "So the quota remains the same, for that the public and the government need not worry," he said.

He added that from Bulog's records, which had asked for rice reserves for new disasters in Jayawija Regency, Wamena City, and then the Papua Provincial Government and then Jayapura City, when the Youtefa market was flooded it had also been realized.
