Pomdam XVII/Cenderawasih investigates abuse cases involving soldiers

The Chief of Staff of the Military Regional Command (Kasdam) XVII/Cenderawasih Brigadier General Sidharta Wisnu Graha admitted that investigators from the Military Police of the Cenderawasih Military Command XVII were still investigating the case of mistreatment of three children in Arso which allegedly involved TNI-AD soldiers.

The three victims were secured at the Cartenz Peace Task Force post, Thursday (27/10) and tortured until they appeared bruised.
 
Although it is not possible to determine who the perpetrators of the persecution are, they ensure that the case will be handled thoroughly.
 
Moreover, Pangdam XVII/Cendrawasih has ordered to investigate the case thoroughly and the perpetrators are prosecuted, said Kasdam XVII Cendrawasih Brigadier General Wisnu Graha.
 
Information compiled by ANTARA stated that the three children who were beaten on Thursday (27/10) with the initials RF (14 years old), BB (13 years old) and LK (11 years old) were previously suspected of stealing two white cockatoos at the Peace Task Force post. Army soldiers who are members of the Cartensz Peace Task Force then look for the perpetrators of the theft and find out if the three children took the birds.
