PT Freeport Indonesia Aid for Uncen, Build Science Building and Research Cooperation
PT Freeport Indonesia provided assistance to Cenderawasih University worth Rp. 60 billion, for the construction of a science and partnership center building worth Rp. 45 thousand and research collaboration of Rp. 15 billion.
The ground breaking for the construction of the science building and partnership center was carried out by the CEO of PT Freeport Indo, the CEO of PT. Freeport Indonesia (PTFI), Richard C. Adkerson and Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM, Bahlil Lahadalia at Uncen Abepura Campus, Jayapura, Thursday (06/10/2022)
The President Director of PT Freeport Indonesia, Tony Wenas, said that Uncen was one of the main partners.
“PT PFI has been working with Uncen for a long time, and the plan to build the Center for Science and Partnership is a form of cooperation that has been discussed so far. Of course, the goal is to support improving the quality of education in Papua," said President Director Wenas.
He also hopes that with this collaboration, PT PFI and Uncen can work together to build the progress of the land of Papua, as well as the glory of Indonesia.
“We also have a joint program and will continue the programs that have been carried out, including signing a cooperation agreement for research worth Rp 1.5 billion. The hope is that Freeport and Uncen work hand in hand to build Papua," said Tony.
Uncen Chancellor Apolo Safanpo explained that Freeport always helps in the form of public lectures, internships to research and other academic activities. "We hope that this building will provide optimal learning for the development of knowledge, skills of students and the people of Papua," he explained.
