Head of BNPT Komjen Boy: KKB is categorized as terrorist
The head of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) Komjen Boy Rafli Amar emphasized that the armed criminal group (KKB) had been included in the terrorist category.
Actions that have been carried out both against civilians and security forces can be categorized as terrorists.
"Moreover, the motive for this violent act was to separate themselves from the Republic of Indonesia," Komjen Boy Rafli told ANTARA in Sentani, the capital of Jayapura Regency, Papua, Saturday.
Admittedly, the crimes committed by KKB have been categorized as terrorists because the crimes committed caused casualties and caused widespread fear in the community.
Therefore, to prevent this, BNPT is currently collaborating with 47 ministries and state institutions to present the state to eradicate radicalism.
Various efforts have been made so that the younger generation and society in general do not fall into radicalism or ideology that justifies all means by using extreme violence and opposing the state constitution and the ideology of Pancasila.
For this reason, law enforcement must be firm, objective and measurable so that civil society does not become victims of the violence committed by the KKB.
"BNPT during evaluations always reminds the importance of law enforcement in a measured manner so that civilians do not become victims, as happened in West Papua where road workers became victims," said Komjen Boy Rafli.
Previously, the Head of BNPT confirmed the Cyber World Peace Ambassador in Papua, which was centered in Sentani, Jayapura Regency.
