Sorong Regency has set two child-friendly villages



The Government of Sorong Regency, West Papua Province has designated Yeflio Village and Klasmelek Village in Mayamuk District as child-friendly villages in the area.

Acting Regent of Sorong Yan Piet Mosso in Sorong, Tuesday, said that child-friendly villages are a national strategic program carried out in the regions for the welfare of the community, especially related to the protection of children.

He explained that the existence of this program is nothing but preparing school-age children to be productive and qualified in the future.

He hopes the relevant regional apparatus organizations so that child-friendly villages are not limited to narratives or slogans but need to be carried out properly and optimally.

Because, he said, this program is important and strategic to determine the future of the quality young generation in Papua.

According to him, the future will be achieved determined today. Then the relevant agencies must play an active role in intervening the program so that it runs in accordance with the provisions of the law.

He said that being a quality child is related to knowledge, spirituality, behavior so that the role of parents is also important in fostering children to be the best.

He also asked the relevant regional apparatus organizations to pay attention to educational facilities, training for children in the child-friendly village.

In addition, ensuring children's rights to play and have fun are also fulfilled because it affects the child's psyche in learning for the future.

"We want this child-friendly village to produce quality young generations who are able to build themselves and the land of Papua," added Regent Mosso.
