Regarding the figure of the Acting Governor of the Papua New Guinea, Yan Mandenas: We already know the names that appear

Member of the DPR RI for the Papuan electoral district, Yan Mandenas, admitted that he knew the candidate for the Acting Governor of the New Autonomous Region (DOB) of Papua.

However, the Deputy Chairperson of the Papua Special Autonomy Committee for the DPR RI admitted that he had not been able to convey it to the public.

"While still in the selection process, although we already know the names that appear," Yan Mandenas told Tribun-Papua.com via telephone, Sunday (6/11/2022).
 
Mandenas explained that the names he had known were not final.

"On d-2 to d-1 of the inauguration, there can still be changes," he explained.

He said the appointment of the governor of Papua New Guinea depended on the standards and criteria desired by the central government.

"Moreover, there is a final assessment team that provides recommendations to issue a Presidential Decree (Presidential Decree) in the context of appointing the Acting Governor of 3 new provinces in Papua," he said.
 
Then when asked about the right figure to fill the temporary head of the region, Mandenas encouraged representation from Papua.

"There must be a representative from Papua who can be involved in preparing the new province," he explained.
 
For anyone who will be inaugurated, Mandenas encourages that the newly formed province can be prepared as well as possible in the future.

"In this case, it is about regional apparatus organizations (OPD), election organizers and other stakeholders."

"Thus, in the future, this new province can make adjustments and preparations for the 2024 election and immediately enter the definitive leader, both in the legislature and executive," he concluded.
