Ahead of Nataru, the Nduga Police and the Peace Ops Task Force Cartenz Patrol Areas Prone to Disruption of the Papua KKB

Ahead of the Christmas Celebration in Papua and the new year 2023 (Nataru), the ranks of the Nduga Police and the Cartenz Peaceful Operations Task Force, Highlands Papua Province, increased patrols to anticipate security disturbances carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).

The patrols in the disturbance-prone areas were directly led by the Head of the Nduga Police, AKBP Rio Alexander Penelewen who was accompanied by the Head of Special Operations Unit for the Nduga Police, Iptu Pratama Sudirno, together with the Preventive Task Force and the Cartenz Peace Ops Action Task Force.

AKBP Rio Alexander told Tribun-Papua.com, Sunday (18/12/2022) said, ahead of the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) celebrations, police personnel on duty in Nduga Regency increased preparedness by increasing patrols in areas considered to be vulnerable points. KKB Papua interference.

"This patrol involved the Nduga Police and the Peace Ops Task Force Cartenz along the road that connects the Kenyam District and the Krepkuri District," said AKBP Rio.

The police chief further explained that apart from anticipating the threat of disruption to the Papuan KKB, patrols are a form of show force for the security forces, especially the police, to show the public that the police are present in society. The area was chosen because the road that connects the two districts is a vital road because in Krepkuri District there is a port which is the entry point for people's basic needs to Kenyam city.

It is hoped that with these patrols, freight drivers and traders will feel safe when crossing this road. "Including indirectly narrowing the movement space for the KKB group considering they often cross this road," said Kapolres AKBP Rio.

It is known that on the sidelines of active patrols the aim is to monitor the progress of road repairs which are known to have been badly damaged due to heavy rains causing the road to collapse.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Cartenz Peace Ops Public Relations Task Force, Kombes Pol Ahmad Mustofa Kamal in Jayapura revealed that the presence of the National Police in the Land of Papua is to provide a sense of security and peace to all people and ensure the running of the community's economy.

"The presence of the police in Papua is expected to provide a sense of security and comfort for the community. The people's economy continues to run and the government remains active in serving the community," Kamal said briefly.
