The Inauguration of the New Autonomous Region Forms the Government's Partisanship towards the Papuan People

The new autonomous region (DOB) of Southwest Papua has been officially established. The existence of a new autonomous region is a request from the people of Papua. When Southwest Papua Province was established, it was a form of government alignment with the people. When there is regional division, there is also potential expansion and massive development so that civilians can live at a better standard.

Papua has a lot of potential, from tourism to mining products. Natural wealth and agricultural products in Cendrawasih Earth are excellent, and can be processed so that the people are more prosperous. In order to further increase the potential in Papua, the government will add a new autonomous region so that there are a total of 6 provinces from initially there were only 2 provinces.

The four new provinces in Papua are the provinces of Southwest Papua, Central Papua (Meepago), South Papua (Ha Anim) and Central Highlands Papua (Lapago). The inauguration of the Southwest Papua Province was indeed a bit slower than the other 3 new autonomous regions. However, the people are still grateful, because the inauguration of the new autonomous region is a form of the central government's concern for the people of Papua.

Deputy V of the Presidential Staff Office, Jaleswari Pramodhawardani, stated that the inauguration of the Southwest Papua Province was a form of the government's and the DPR RI's alignment with the people's aspirations. Especially the Indigenous Papuans (OAP) who want steps to accelerate welfare development in the Cendrawasih Land region.

This means that the government really pays attention to the people of Papua and ultimately creates division of the region. The formation of the Southwest Papua Province was a request from the people of Cendrawasih Earth. After the new autonomous region was officially established, the people were happy because the government was on their side.

So far, President Jokowi has paid great attention to the Papuan people, and has been recorded as the head of state who has visited the Cendrawasih Land most often. He also fulfilled the people's request for the division of the Papua region. Especially when Papua is too large in area (almost 40,000 m2) so new provinces are needed to make it easier to regulate.

With the inauguration of the Southwest Papua Province, there will be an even distribution of development in Papua. Development really needs to be increased so that it is evenly distributed. So, not only big cities like Jayapura or Merauke have good infrastructure. But also other areas such as Nabire, Yahukimo, Intan Jaya, and other areas.

Equitable development is needed so that the community can progress. When the Province of Southwest Papua was established, a new provincial government office was also established. Automated roads and other infrastructure continues to be repaired. The Papuan people are very grateful to the central government because since the new province was established, there will be many positive changes there.

The development needed by the community is not only in the form of roads and bridges, but also school buildings. If there is a new province, new school buildings will be built, starting from kindergarten to high school. Papuan children can go to school there and do not have to go to another city because there is no high school in their area.

Therefore the people are very grateful because the government has granted the request, by establishing the Southwest Papua Province. President Jokowi has proven to be on the side of the people, especially indigenous Papuans. In 2019, there were 61 delegates from the Papuan people who asked for regional expansion, and he granted it a few years later.

Jaleswari added, Southwest Papua Province has extraordinary natural tourism potential. Among them Raja Ampat. Then, this province also has very good mining potential. Therefore there needs to be collaboration from the local government, indigenous peoples, academics, entrepreneurs, so that this province is more advanced.

Southwest Papua Province will grow into a prosperous region. With APBD funds from the central government, the tourist areas will develop again. Not only Raja Ampat but also other places. The people of Southwest Papua can sell souvenirs, food, and offer inns to tourists.

If there is attention from the government with the formation of a new province and APBD funds, it will have a positive domino effect, namely people's welfare. They can be more prosperous because more tourist areas in Southwest Papua are being developed. With so many foreign tourists, it will increase the country's foreign exchange as well as increase the income of the people in Southwest Papua.

The inauguration of the Papua New Guinea, namely the Southwest Papua Province, will have a positive impact on all the Papuan people. First, there will be construction of infrastructure such as roads, bridges and school buildings. Mobility is smooth and Papuan children can go to high school.

The people are very grateful to the government, especially to President Jokowi. Currently Papua has 4 new provinces and what has just been inaugurated is Papua Barat Daya. With the addition of the new autonomous regions, it is hoped that the people in Southwest Papua will be more prosperous, because their mobility is smooth. APBD funds in the new province are also to support the tourism sector and make people more prosperous.
