Bokondini Pineapple Prepared for PON 2020 Athlete Beverage

The original Pineapple Bokondini, Tolikara Regency will be produced into a beverage packaging (in the form of juice) prepared for athletes at the XX National Sports Week (PON) in 2020.

The Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, SIP, MH said, his party had agreed together with the Tolikara Regency government through the Gerbang Mas program (now it has changed to Proud).

"We have developed pineapple juice and red fruit juice. It is expected to have been produced mainly in Bokondini. These pineapples must be produced as much as possible, so the Regent of Tolikara must help with its management," Governor Luke said during a working visit to Bokondini, Tolikara.

According to him, if the pineapple drink is produced more certainly, in addition to consumption at PON XX in 2020, it can also be exported. Moreover, this drink comes from pineapple that is grown without using fertilizer or organic.

"Pineapples here always bear fruit at any time of the year, without knowing the season, so that with this group of pineapple farmers with the help of the government, they can produce more, even can be sold out of Papua," he said.

Meanwhile Tolikara Regent, Usman G Wanimbo added, if the production of pineapple in his area is still small scale, but will continue to be developed.

"Because of the governor's directives to contribute to the success of the 2020 PON, that's why for activities budgeted in the 2019 APBD. We are more directed to this. Because this will be an athlete's favorite drink," he said.

For this reason, added the Regent of Wanimbo, Tolikara Regency Government has the responsibility to provide guidance to businesses that produce it through the agriculture service.
