The Government Spent Rp. 9.3 Trillion in Infrastructure Funds to Papua

Deputy Minister (Vice Minister) of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), John Wempi Wetipo said, in 2020, the government through the Ministry of PUPR poured infrastructure development funds into Tanah Papua, both to Papua Province and West Papua Province amounting to Rp9.3 trillion.
.
According to John, from the Rp9.3 trillion, Papua Province received Rp6.3 trillion, while West Papua Province received Rp3 trillion. "The total APBN managed by the Ministry of PUPR in 2020 amounted to Rp120 trillion," explained John through a release sent to reporters in Jayapura City, Papua, Monday (10/2).
.
According to John, to follow up on this infrastructure fund, his party visited the City of Manokwari, West Papua Province, to see the location of the planned bridge construction between Manokwari City and Mansinam Island.
.
"We went there (Kota Manokwari) for the initial survey first, collecting data. Then later, give it to the consultants and consultants who will calculate the financing starting from the complete work, "explained John.
.
John also said, the bridge that will be built in the City of Manokwari which will later connect with Mansinam Island, could become the latest icon in West Papua Province.
.
"So on February 5, 2020 I would like to convey my written aspirations regarding this bridge. "I have conveyed this to the governor and delivered Felix Wanggai, as well as Bapenas for the Manokwari-Mansinam Red Bridge," said John.
.
For this reason, John hopes, in 2021, the construction of the Manokwari-Mansinam bridge can already be carried out. So that later transportation from Manokwari City to Mansinam Island, which has so far only been by sea, can also be by land with the existence of the bridge.
.
"If at this time every year people who want to celebrate the entry of the Gospel of February 5 in the Land of Papua on the island of Mansinam can only go by sea, I hope that someday the people can pass by land with this bridge. I am sure this bridge is the same as the Youtefa Bridge in the City Jayapura, Papua Province, "explained John.
