6,000 Volunteers from Merauke are recruited to succeed PON 2020

Papua KNPI Chairperson who is also Chairperson of PON 2020 Papua Volunteers Albertho G. Wanimbo said the recruitment of PON volunteers for several sports in Merauke Regency requires young people who are capable of speaking and able to look attractive and polite in order to provide good service to the guests who come.

"We hope that the KNPI Merauke and the youth can prepare themselves to be involved in PON volunteers who are recruited to make this four-year event a success," he said when met in Merauke, Wednesday (11/3).

He said the planned recruitment of volunteers in Merauke Regency was actually 1,500 people but he continued to work to become 6,000 in order to adjust to the needs in the six sports fields that were held in Merauke.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Merauke Regency KNPI, Semson Petrus Balageize said that his party was ready to support the implementation of the PON with the Merauke Regency youth.

"We are ready to succeed PON 2020 by taking part in volunteers for PON 2020," he said.

Meanwhile the Merauke Regent, Frederikus Gebze said that if the chairman of the KNPI DPD said there would be an increase to 6,000 volunteers then his party as the local government was ready and would support the successful implementation of the PON by prioritizing the recruitment of volunteers.
