RI MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo said his visit to Papua was to ensure that the easternmost island in Indonesia had prosperity, justice and prosperity. In developing Papua, the government has given special autonomy funds (otsus) which are said to end in 2021.
"We will encourage the Special Autonomy Fund to be given," he said.
This was conveyed during a face-to-face meeting of the Chairman of the MPR, DPR, DPD, and the Ministry of PUPR with Forkopimda Jayawijaya i Amo Hotel, Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua, Tuesday (3/3/2020).
On that occasion, he also reviewed the construction of 193 houses and 400 shop houses that were rebuilt by the government to restore the economy and post-Wamena life after some time ago.
"And today we are witnessing recovery and recovery efforts in Wamena. Currently it is being worked on and we are watching," he said.
He explained that the market, shop houses and housing were built to restore the atmosphere and economy in the cool climate. He also gave the highest appreciation to the Ministry of Public Works and Public Works, the Regent of Jayawijaya, and the Army, which served quickly and responsively.
"Those who have quickly, responded, carried out recovery for the people of Wamena," he said.
MPR Deputy Chair Fadel Muhammad on the same occasion acknowledged that the development in Papua was extraordinary. After seeing Timika, Wamena, Sentani, and Jayapura, the development was very encouraging.
On this occasion the National Pledge was also signed. The pledge contained to present a comprehensive atmosphere for the future of the land of Papua which is based on justice, prosperity, and culture.
Deputy Chair of the MPR Arsul Sani said the National Pledge that was signed needed to be interpreted that the MPR had a strong commitment to advance Papua and resolve existing problems.
