Hundreds of Thousands of Customers in Papua and West Papua Enjoy Free Electricity

In accordance with government policy in the midst of this co-19 pandemic, PLN began implementing a program of providing free electricity stimulus to household customers of R1 / 450 VA and R1 / 900 VA subsidized in Papua and West Papua (PB).

There are 121,394 customers in Papua and West Papua who are entitled to receive this assistance (based on the Integrated Social Welfare Data from the Ministry of Social Affairs).

Of these customers, 98,349 R1 / 450 VA household customers will get electricity free of charge, while the other 23,045 are subsidized R1 / 900 VA household customers who will receive a 50 percent bill relief or free token.

"The amount is calculated from the highest usage over the past 3 months, and will take place during April-June 2020. In accordance with the directions and policies of the central government regarding the Covid-19 stimulus, we are ready to provide relief assistance to subsidized customers. For R1 / 450 VA postpaid customers, the bill will be immediately released free of charge in April, May and June 2020. Whereas for R1 / 450 VA and R1 / 900 VA prepaid customers can get a free electricity token code by sending a Customer ID number through the Whatsapp application at number 08122123123 or the PLN website at www.pln.co.id.

In addition, PLN also anticipates if there are areas that are difficult or do not have internet access. One way is, with the help of sub-districts / villages / villages. PLN will provide data on prepaid customers who are entitled to receive assistance to the sub-district / village / village apparatus, and then customers can come in with their customer IDs.
