Papua Province Raises Status as Corona Virus Emergency Response |
Responding to the growing number of positive Covid-19 patients in Papua Province, the Papua Provincial Government has decided to raise the status of emergency alert to emergency response.
This statement was conveyed by Papua Governor Lukas Enembe, who was read out by Papua Deputy Governor Klemen Tinal after chairing a meeting with the Regional Leadership Forum (Forkopimda) of the Papua Province at the State Building, Jayapura City on Wednesday (8/4) afternoon.
Klemen revealed, the number of positive patients infected with the corona virus in Papua Province amounted to 31 cases, the number of Patients Under Supervision (PDP) numbered 44 people and the number of People Under Monitoring (ODP) was 3,262 people.
"This number poses a serious threat to us in Papua Province, so we must raise the status from emergency alert to emergency response to the prevention and treatment of the corona virus in Papua," Klemen Tinal said.
With the increase in the number of positive patients from Covid-19, the government decided to raise the status of emergency alert to emergency response.
"I hereby Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, declare to raise the status of emergency alert to corona emergency response in Papua Province for 28 days or two incubation periods from April 9 to May 6, 2020," he said.
