Papua Provincial Government Urges Hospitals To Still Perform Health Services
The Provincial Government of Papua calls on Hospitals in Jayapura not to close down health services, because Papuans still need health services very much.
The assertion was conveyed by Assistant II of Papua Regional Secretary, M. Musaad to reporters after meeting with the Five Hospital Directors in Jayapura City, Wednesday (7/15).
"So, the Bhayangkara and Provita hospitals are indeed closed because all the rooms are full, but we have already sat and talked so that service to the community must still be there, and they are still committed to service if there are patients coming out (back)," he said.
For this reason, he requested that all hospitals together with the Health Office create a new scenario related to the increasing number of positive cases of the corona virus, because we must protect the Papuan people.
"The hospital and the Health Service must create a scenario, if new cases continue to grow, what must be done, so that service to the community continues to run, because the hospital is closed unless it goes bankrupt," he stressed.
Musaad admitted that the number of medical personnel infected with the Covid-19 virus had disrupted services at the hospital, however, the government would strive to keep health services to the community running.
