PLN West Papua Through SOE Task Force Returns Aid

PLN Papua & West Papua Regional Unit (UIWP2B) again provided Covid-19 corona assistance, through the SOE Disaster Task Force for the Papua region in the form of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other medical devices with a nominal value of Rp. 300 million.

Phase II assistance was handed over to the Papua Province Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), to be distributed to hospitals and puskesmas in need of efforts to deal with Covid-19.

Stage II assistance in the form of medical masks, gloves (handscoon), hazmat, hand sanitizer and PPE with a total of 180 sets.

The Deputy Chairman of the Papua Province SOE Disaster Task Force, Sugeng Widodo thanked PLN, as one of the BUMNs in Papua who was concerned about pandemic prevention.

Previously, PLN had distributed assistance in the form of PPE, masks and disinfectants valued at Rp.115 million given to the Task Force for Control, Prevention and Handling of Covid-19 Papua Province in early June.

Not only that, PLN also distributed 500 food packages worth Rp200 million to Covid-19 affected communities around Jayapura.

"This is a form of our concern and responsibility as a state-owned company to overcome the pandemic in Papua. Hopefully this assistance can be useful for medical workers who are struggling to overcome the Covid-19 virus, "said Senior UI HR and P2B UI General Manager, John S. Yarangga when delivering aid.

In addition to focusing on electricity, PLN also carries out its social responsibilities through the environmental development program and PLN continues to participate in the prevention and treatment of the Covid-19 virus pandemic.

"During the pandemic, we have distributed assistance worth around Rp615 million, both through the SOE Disaster Task Force and directly to the community," added John.

With a variety of assistance that has been provided by PLN and other SOEs, it is expected to be able to help the government, especially in Papua to overcome the corona pandemic.

"PLN, in charge of the SOE Disaster Task Force in Papua, continues to receive assistance from other SOEs for handling the spread of Covid-19," he said.
