Save Papua's Golden Generation from Provocateurs

Papua Police Chief Inspector General Paul Waterpauw asked the Papua provincial government to curb the Papuan student dorms in various study cities in Indonesia. The request follows the number of Papuan student dormitories in Indonesia that have been taken over by the Papuan Student Alliance (AMP) to carry out movements against the country.

"The Papuan government is obliged to curb student dormitories, because the local government is funding Papuan children studying in several study cities in Indonesia," Paulus Wartepaw told reporters at the Papua Regional Police Headquarters on Wednesday (07/08/2020).

Waterpauw said, Papuan student dorms had been infiltrated by AMP and had carried out propaganda to new students. Finally, the new students joined the resistance movement to the country.

"We follow from the beginning who formed AMP. Moreover, we have heard of AMPTI first, and these are also actors who are members of the KNPB who then have a relationship with the classification of positions to sit or take shelter in ULMWP who are fighting against the state, "he explained.

Waterpauw exemplified the case of racism in Surabaya in 2019, where students who were in Surabaya's dormitory fought against the security forces.

"Even when the Governor of Papua and Mother came there they refused and were forbidden to enter the student dormitory, even though the one who was funding the students was the local government," he said.

Let's save the golden generation of Papua from all forms of provocation that will only divide the unity and integrity of the nation.
