TNI Vegetable Section Free To Residents

Yields of vegetables from gardens in the food security land of the Navy Base Base (Lantamal) VIII, distributed free of charge to residents, in Manado, Wednesday (7/15).

Lantamal VIII Commander Brigadier General TNI (Mar) Donar Philip Rompas said his gratitude to all personnel who had planted and looked after the plants in the Lantamal Food Security garden well.

"From the garden, we can produce excess vegetables and can be distributed to the community. Our garden can be a blessing for others," he said.

In the distribution of vegetables, female Navy Corps (Kowal) personnel and female Lantamal civil servants distributed vegetables free of charge to every citizen who passed in front of the Lantamal VIII Command (Mako) Headquarters, Yos Sudarso No.1 Kairagi Weru Paal Dua Street, Manado.

Distribution of vegetables to residents ranging from pedestrians, motorbike riders and public and private transport passengers.

Kasdispen Lantamal VIII Major Sea KH Samuel Pontoh said that in the last few weeks the harvest of vegetables from the Lantam VIII garden, especially long beans and spinach, continued.

This is because the planting time carried out by Lantamal VIII personnel from each work unit is different so that the vegetables always produce.

"The activity was carried out as an effort to maintain food security, especially the availability of vegetables during the COVID-19 epidemic for all Lantanal VIII personnel," he said.
