TNI Facilitates Mobile Libraries for Border Children

TNI soldiers in the Border Security Task Force (Satgas Pamtas) Yonif 125 / Si'mbisa provide mobile library services for school students in Sota Village, Merauke Regency, Papua Province, Indonesia-Papua New Guinea (PNG) border area.

This service is a form of concern for children's education in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic situation.

The commander of the Task Force (Dansatgas) Yonif 125 / Si'mbisa Lieutenant Colonel (Inf) Anjuanda Pardosi said that the mobile library activity carried out by TNI soldiers was carried out in line 5 A of Sota Village, which involved three TNI personnel from the Kout Post Task Force led by Serda JH Manullang.

"The presence of this mobile library is expected to foster and increase interest in reading for children in border areas, especially in the midst of the current Covid-19 pandemic, children need educational services," he said.

He hopes that through a culture of interest in reading, it will increase knowledge and broaden children's horizons so that later it will give birth to the next generation of Indonesian people who are healthy, smart and smart.

"We know that books are a window to the world, so reading books is the key to opening windows of various information," he said.

The Dansatgas said the activity was one of the territorial development programs for residents on the Indonesia-PNG border.

"As well as efforts to improve the intellectuality of the next generation of the Indonesian nation with a reading culture," said Anjuanda Pardosi.

Meanwhile, residents of Kampung Sota Alfons Katop expressed their gratitude to the TNI soldiers from the 125 / Si'mbisa Task Force for coming to the village and providing mobile library services for local children.

"The presence of this mobile library is very beneficial for our children, especially since children have not experienced studying in school for a long time because of the Covid-19 pandemic which has not ended," said AlfonsKatop.

The geographic area of ??the Sota Village Government, Sota District, Merauke Regency is an area in southern Papua which is directly adjacent to the neighboring country of Papua New Guinea.
