PON Papua 2021 will be strictly guarded 24 hours, using sophisticated drones

 

The XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) will soon be held. The committee continues to make preparations. Security issues are one of the main concerns.

According to the plan, the XX Papua PON will be held from October 2 to October 15, 2021. However, some matches have competed since September 23, 2021.

Security in Papua is in the spotlight. This is because Papua has recently been rocked by the problem of armed criminal groups (KKB). Fire contact with security forces occurred quite frequently. Even the Indonesian government has just designated the KKB in the list of terrorist groups.

However, the General Secretary of PB PON XX, Elia Loupatty, emphasized that the participants of this prestigious event did not have to worry. PB PON XX has coordinated with TNI-Polri for security.

Strict guarding will be carried out at all venues and inns for PON XX Papua participants.

"We have coordinated with the government, TNI, Polri, with the Pangdam Cendrawasih and the Papua Police Chief. The recent incidents are far from the location of the XX PON. Need to take a small plane. So there is no need to worry about security," said Secretary PB PON XX Elia. Loupatty

"The TNI-Polri will be the location for the competition and lodging for the XX PON athletes strictly for 24 hours. Kapolda and Pangdam Cendrawasih have guaranteed the security of the XX PON implementation," Elia continued.

Even Papua will deploy sophisticated equipment to secure the competition arena in the form of drones.

"For security in us I want to emphasize that we are also equipped with advanced technology for this PON. We use the drones that we provide by PB PON for security. This drone is actually military equipment that we help to our security team, in that security there are Polda and Pangdam. , "said Roi Letlora, Head of Division II PB PON

There are three drones to be deployed. The drones will be in four regions, namely Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Mimika Regency and Merauke Regency. Especially for venues in Jayapura City and Jayapura Regency, only one drone will be handled.

“This drone is equipped with a face detector that allows the drone to detect more than 3 kilometers from the venue. So that we can see the crowd and even faces are also detected, "said Roi.
