TNI Responds to the Challenge of OPM War in Papua Ilaga Peak

The Head of Information for the Defense Regional Joint Command (Kogabwilhan) III TNI, Colonel Czi IGN Suriastawa admitted that it would not be a problem if the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) of the Free Papua Organization (OPM) appointed Muara, Puncak Ilaga, Papua as the location of the war between the Indonesian National Police and their side. .

Regardless of the location, said Suriastawa, it is the duty of the Indonesian National Armed Forces to maintain the integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.

"No problem, what is clear is our obligation to maintain the integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia, and protect all citizens from any threat, including KKB terrorists," said Suriastawa.

Suriastawa stated that the TNI is currently still pursuing and sweeping several locations, which, based on his side's analysis, are known as KKB hiding places.

"Sooner and later, these KKB terrorists must be brought to justice," he said.

He also said that Puncak Ilaga, which was designated by the KKB as the location of the war, was also one of the locations combed by the Indonesian National Police as a hiding area for KKBs.

"Indeed, one of them is the peak of Ilaga. So far, we have been pursuing it. We are just waiting for time until the KKB terrorists will run out to their roots," he said.

"There are no terrorists in the Republic of Indonesia," he explained.

Previously, TPNPB OPM Spokesperson Sebby Sambom said that his party had designated the area in Puncak Ilaga, Papua as a location for war with the TNI Demon Forces.

These areas were deliberately chosen because of the relatively far outreach of civil society. This is so as not to endanger people who are not involved in the war.

"Appealing to the Satanic colonial Indonesian military that the battlefield area has been determined for the sake of safeguarding the safety of the civilians in Puncak Ilaga district," Sebby said in a written statement.
